More news on The Secret Life of the American Teenager Second Season
ABC Family has ordered an additional 13 episodes of the teen pregnancy drama by “7th Heaven” creator Brenda Hampton, it was announced at the TCA panel Thursday (July 17).
“We just launched ‘The Secret Life of the American Teenager’ a couple of weeks ago to our highest original series numbers ever. We’re thrilled obviously,” says network president Paul Lee. “This show has definitely hit the sweet spot of our Millennial audience. So I couldn’t be more pleased to announce that we’re picking up 13 additional episodes of the series.”
One of the new episodes will play this season, while the remaining 12 will get held for next year.
The July 1 debut of the series — about a good girl (Shailene Woodley) who gets knocked up when she loses her virginity to the school stud — was the network’s most-watched original series premiere ever, bringing in 2.8 million total viewers.
The premiere also was the second-highest rated episode overall among ABC Family’s original series telecasts, only trailing the Seasone One finale of “Kyle XY,” which drew 2.9 million total viewers.

i love dis show! if it was 2 be taken off i would never watch ABC family again. only one thing i could ask 4 is 2 let ben and amy be more like a couple. i mean they do but i think they need more cemisrty and they only kissed once in an episode. let them have even a peck on the check or somethin.

I LOVE THIS SHOW!!! it is the best i have ever seen!! i swear its my obsession! i hope that this series has atleast 5 seasons!! lol! ROCK ON SECRET LIFE!! <3

Love the series it’s a great eye opener for teens to prevent it from happening or coupe with it if you are already there. LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT!!!!! I hope there are at least 5 Season or more
